Is there a correlation between erectile dysfunction and lower back pain patients?
A article, based upon studies, published by NIH in Bethesda, Md. found that “An erection involves your brain, nerves, hormones, and blood vessels. Anything that interferes with these normal functions can lead to problems getting an erection.”
You can read that article here…

So, although erectile dysfunction can be cause by other things, such as listed above, notice that the first two described are the brain
and the nerves.
Now, we know that inflammation in the lumbar spinal nerves can cause lower back pain.
Further, we know, based upon this study, and others, that nerve inflammation can cause lower back pain.
Therefore, it would stand to reason that at least some of the people who get lower back pain might also have problems with erectile dysfunction.
And, it might stand to reason that at least some of the people who get erectile dysfunction might also get lower back pain.
The point is that BOTH back pain AND erectile dysfunction are SYMPTOMS, and not the the root cause of the problem, which is the inflammation of the nerves leading to those areas.
So, then Can a Chiropractor help treat erectile dysfunction?
Well, I would answer that by stating that IF the erectile dysfunction is a symptom of nerve inflammation (which we know is one of the main causes of erectile dysfunction), then i would further caution by stating that the Chiropractor knows how to help reduce or eliminate the inflammation of the nerves.
And IF the nerves are able to be calmed, and the inflammation is reduced or eliminated, then many times the SYMPTOMS that are associated with inflammation— such as back pain and erectile dysfunction—also are reduced or eliminated.
This is NOT because the Chiropractor “cured” the erectile dysfunction!!
This is simply because the Chiropractor found that the nerve controlling the pelvic regions was inflammed, and then the Chiropractor simply reduced the inflammation.
Afterwards, the nerves now began to function normally, bringing strength and energy to the appropriate organs.
Many times, when I do a re-examination with one of my lower back pain male patients, they often tell me that not only is their back pain reduced or eliminated, but that they are now sexually active, despite having had previous problems with erectile dysfunction.
